Going somewhere? It’s that time of year where we travel the most and the top question I get asked is “how can I prepare for safe travels naturally?” Your travel plans will dictate which of the following will apply to you. Hope you find something here that suits your needs, and I wish you safe and happy travels!

this will help keep your gut flora balanced while travelling and help to decrease the potential for the dreaded traveller’s diarrhea. Different strains work for different individuals so speak to a health care practitioner (such as me) to find out which will work best for you!

Small plastic bottle for cleaning wounds.

Sterile gauze pads and roll, adhesive bandage tape, elastic for sprains or strains

Powdered drink packets such as Emergen-C. Especially important on hot summer days!

Small pair for cutting bandages and adhesive tape

For removing ticks and splinters

Travel-size bottle

soothing for cuts & burns of any kind, including sunburns. Purchase aloe vera gel at a trusted health food store or grow at home & break a leaf open as needed. Apply directly to the cut or burn.

antibacterial, anti-fungal & can be applied topically to relieve the following ailments: nail fungus, poison ivy (oak), cold sores, warts, ticks & mosquito bites, scrapes, and cuts

to alleviate bruises, joint inflammation, muscle strain/soreness & minor sprains. Massage arnica onto unbroken skin to reduce pain & promote healing. Do not use it on open wounds. Not to be used internally!

  • for external cuts, sores & infected areas. Great for skin inflammation & irritations of any kind. Use only after thoroughly cleaning the infected area. Not to be used internally!

very calming for anxiety or for a fussy child. Apply a few drops to cloth & inhale

particulalry useful for shock & traumatic situations

containing a combination of lavender, thyme, basil & citronella. These do work, but must be applied often (every 2-3 hours)

 gentle for children promotes relaxation, relieves indigestion and, when applied topically, soothes skin irritations.

 antispasmodic & gas-relieving properties to soothe digestive upsets. Ginger also has been proven to relieve motion sickness better than Dramamine, the conventional drug treatment

3 pellets under the tongue, for bruises, sprains, strains or injuries

 3 pellets under the tongue, can be taken for fever, over-heating and sunburns
