Yvonne is a member of The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and The Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario. Prior to completing The Massage Therapy Program at Elmcrest College, Yvonne studied Jazz Saxophone at Humber College. While at Elmcrest, her outreach studies focused on prenatal massage, infant massage, and post-partum treatments through Rosalie Hall and the North York General Hospital labour and delivery ward. She also spent time assisting her peers in the Student Massage Clinic.
Yvonne has considerable experience treating several conditions including headaches and migraines, low back pain, tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive strain injuries, conditions relating to pregnancy and post-partum care, sciatica and postural conditions such as scoliosis.
Through the use of Swedish Massage, with a focus on relaxation and stress-reduction, Yvonne is keen to help her clients reach their wellness goals. Other techniques she uses include myofascial release, joint play techniques, deep tissue massage, and passive stretching.
Post-treatment, Yvonne will take the extra step to advise each client on home care activities to maintain optimal health between sessions. These can include tailored stretching and strengthening exercises and postural awareness tips. Yvonne believes education and awareness are essential to the healing process.
