“In addition to manual therapy, I believe in empowering my patients with the knowledge and skills to manage and overcome their musculoskeletal challenges so that they may take control of their health and live their lives to the fullest”
Dr. Mackey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo. He then continued his education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto where he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
Dr. Mackey’s introduction into chiropractic was facilitated by the numerous athletic injuries that he sustained while playing various competitive sports (volleyball, basketball, and running) throughout his adolescence. Throughout his athletic journey chiropractic treatment allowed him to continue competing at a high level and inspired a passion to pursue a career in the healthcare field.
Dr. Mackey holds a certification in Athletic Movement Assessment and has taken multiple courses that have enhanced his clinical toolset in areas such as rehabilitation and soft tissue techniques. His patient-specific and patient-centered treatment plans incorporate a variety of techniques including manual adjusting and mobilizations, soft tissue techniques, as well as active rehabilitation programs. He believes in an evidence-based approach in order to help patients achieve their optimal health, function, and well-being. He has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of populations and conditions and aims to continue to expand this knowledge in order to provide his patients with the best possible care and help them to achieve their short and long-term health goals.
